The L.D. Bell Blue Raider Band is one of 11 marching bands in this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade — and the only band from Texas.

Early Wednesday morning, student musicians at Hurst High School were already practicing for their biggest performance yet. In two weeks, they’ll board a plane to New York City to take part in the nationally televised parade.

"How many Thanksgiving mornings am I in my pajamas with my coffee watching the parade on TV," said L.D. Bell Director of Bands Suzanne Dell. "It’s pretty wild to think that we’re actually going to be there, and that people sitting at home in their PJs, drinking coffee, are going to be watching us."
