ALTOONA, Pa. — Allderdice had a crazy second half to get past West Allegheny on Saturday and into the state semifinals.

But the Dragons could not find that magic coming out of the intermission against Conrad Weiser and, instead, it was the Scouts who slayed the Dragons dream of a state championship.

Conrad Weiser (24-0-1), the District 3 champion, picked up a first-half tally from senior forward Parker Centeno as the Scouts pulled out a 3-1 victory against Allderdice (17-4-1) in the PIAA Class 3A semifinals Tuesday night at Mansion Park Stadium.

“Obviously Conrad Weiser’s a great team, undefeated and ranked No. 1, but we’re No. 2 for a reason,” Allderdice coach David Thyberg said. “This was a lot of fun. Both teams played legitimate on-the-ground soccer. That was a lot like college ball
