A former CFMEU state secretary has been arrested and charged over alleged menacing behaviour.

John Setka was charged with seven counts of using a carriage service to menace, Nine newspapers reported.

Mr Setka quit his role in 2024, after facing allegations of misconduct with relation to his activities in the Construction, Forestry and Maritime Employees Union.

Menace via a carriage service charges relate to using an electronic communication device to threaten or intimidate a person.
