HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - The Pile Driving Contractors Association (PDCA) is hosting the tri-annual Driven Pile Academy in Hancock County. This is a rigorous, hands-on educational event for pile drivers and other deep foundations construction professionals.
“This is such a big event, it takes three years in between events to get the site set up, get the equipment together and make sure we have arrangements for a good and safe educational process,” said PDCA President Buck Darling.
Driven piles are commonly installed as foundations for bridges and buildings, providing a stronger base on land where a structure may not have been able to stand otherwise.
As the host state, this provides companies in Mississippi a chance to find skilled workers to build their teams.
