LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A catastrophic plane crash near the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport Tuesday has rocked the community.

The MD-11 aircraft was enroute to Honolulu and went down around 5:15 p.m., sending a massive plume of smoke into the sky visible across Louisville and southern Indiana.

"No one should have to deal with tragedy alone," Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said. "Whether your the family member of someone who is still missing or have been notified as a victim of this crash, whether you're part of the UPS family, whether you know people who are part of the UPS family, everyone in our city I know has been hurt by this tragedy."

Greenberg said those who are looking for loved ones should go to the reunification center at Louisville Metro Police's Training Academy
