COLUMBUS, Ohio — Thanksgiving is a little more than two weeks away and some retailers have taken note of shoppers trying to save a few bucks to put on the feast.
The American Farm Bureau Federation reports wholesale turkey prices are up 40% this year. That can be attributed to the earlier bird flu outbreak and just the cost of feeding the birds.
Retailers Walmart, Target, Aldi and Kroger have all recently rolled out Thanksgiving meal deals promising to feed a certain number of people for a certain price and includes the turkey and some of the sides, minus a few of the necessities to complete the dishes.
Walmart and Aldi promise a meal for 10 for $40. Kroger’s will feed 10, but it will cost $47.50. Target is the lowest at $20, but there’s a catch. It only feeds four.
