KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Western Michigan University (WMU) community has been mourning the death of Marshawn Kneeland. He was a star player at WMU before being drafted to the Dallas Cowboys. He died Wednesday, Nov. 5.

At their football game Tuesday night, WMU found various ways to remember and mourn Marshawn in and around the field he used to call home.

The school painted his initials and WMU jersey number, MK 99, on both sidelines near the endzones. The WMU players also wore MK 99 decals on their helmets.

The school played an "In Memory" video and held a moment of silence for Marshawn at the four-minute mark, prior to the coin toss.
