Runners and walkers have a little over a month to get ready for a walk in Whoville, or at the very least a stroll or sprint along the Santa Maria River Levee Trail.

The Recreation and Parks Department and the Central Coast Running Club will host the first Grinchmas 5K Family Fun Run or Walk, in collaboration with PLAY, Inc. on Sunday, Dec. 14.

Pre-registration is required, and no day of event registration will be accepted. Registration is available online at https://tinyurl.com/grinchmasrun through Wednesday, Dec. 10.

The morning run features multiple activities for participants of all ages and abilities including a 5k, a 1-mile sprint and a baby crawl. The loop course begins, and ends, at the Edwards Community Center and follows the scenic Santa Maria River Levee Trail.
