MANCHESTER, Connecticut — An Olympic bronze medalist has announced she will participate in the Manchester Road Race on Thanksgiving morning.

Jenny Simpson, of Boulder, Colo., will compete in Connecticut’s most famous race on Nov. 27 alongside her husband, Jason, who is also an avid runner and marathoner.

A release on Tuesday from Manchester Road Race Archivist Rick Dyer detailed Simpson’s career accomplishments.

The 39-year-old is a three-time Olympian who rose to prominence by winning the 1,500-meter race at the 2011 World Championships. She was the silver medalist at that event in 2013 and 2017.
