INYO COUNTY, California. (KOLO) - The Inyo County Sheriff’s Office says its Search and Rescue team has recovered one survivor from a small plane crash.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, someone called around 9:20 Monday night to report a missing aircraft night. That plane reportedly had three people aboard. They say, shortly after takeoff, all communications with the plane were lost.
This morning, the Civil Air Patrol initiated search efforts. Just after 6 a.m., crews found the downed plane near Black Canyon Road. A California Highway Patrol helicopter deployed with a medical team to assess the condition of those aboard the plane. They reached the site around 9:20 a.m., finding two people dead. The third person aboard had sustained several injuries and was airlifted
