The colorful shine of Northern Lights was visible in the Chicago area Tuesday evening amid a powerful geomagnetic storm .
Around 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, Northern Lights were visible in Gilberts and Wheaton.
The visibility is thanks to a powerful solar flare and Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) that erupted from the sun early Tuesday morning, according to the NBC 5 Storm Team .
After Tuesday, Chicago-area residents have another chance to see the Northern Lights Wednesday.
