SOUTH BEND – Everyone at Notre Dame Stadium thought Jeremiyah Love was down.

The Notre Dame running back had been slung to the ground in the backfield by a Navy defender. The play was over and the Midshipman defense slowed up.

Only Love knew what everyone soon learned: He had never touched the ground.

"What solidified it was I didn’t hear the refs blow the whistle, so I just kept running," Love said. "It was a very lucky play, I would say."

Forty-eight yards later, that luck found Love in the end zone for one of the most eye-popping touchdowns of the week in college football. And for Love's Irish teammates there was nothing lucky about it. Everyone associated with the program has gotten used to seeing their star back's astounding feats of agility, speed and strength.
