DeBerry is an author and organ donation advocate. She published a book on organ donation after her father went through the process of a kidney transplant. DeBerry wants to be a transplant surgeon when she grows up.
Every November, the faith community recognizes the importance of life saving organ donations. Sunday's event was held in partnership with the New Orleans, Crescent City and Pontchartrain chapters of The Links Incorporated.
