Boston has long been a city of horrors for the Maple Leafs, as any member of Leafs Nation can tell you.

Another chapter was added on Tuesday night.

Captain Auston Matthews and goaltender Anthony Stolarz each departed the game against the Bruins at TD Garden with an injury.

The Leafs announced after the second period that Matthews suffered a lower-body injury and Stolarz an upper-body injury.

Stolarz had a poor first period, allowing three goals on 10 shots, and did not return for the start of the second. Nor did Stolarz return to the Leafs bench.

Matthews left in the second period after a couple of collisions with giant Bruins defenceman Nikita Zadorov . The first might have been a penalty on Zadorov, who caught Matthews from behind at the side boards, but no call was made.
