PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) -- UPDATE: Nov. 11, 8:19 p.m. -- The westbound lanes on the I-24 Ohio River bridge are back open after crews clean up after a major crash involving a semi truck.
ORIGINAL: Nov. 11, 3:39 p.m. -- The McCracken County Sheriff's Office is responding to a crash on the Interstate 24 Ohio River bridge in the westbound lanes on Tuesday afternoon.
The sheriff's office informed the public at 3:35 p.m., a semi tractor-trailer was involved in the incident and has partially lost what it was hauling, leading to the shutdown of the westbound lanes.
Authorities expect the closure to last two to three hours. Motorists are advised to avoid the interstate during this time.
Additionally, officials remind drivers that semi tractor-trailers are not permitted to cross the Brookport Bridge
