JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - The Disabled American Veterans held a ceremony Tuesday morning to honor heroes in Jacksonville and reflect on their sacrifices.
Vietnam War veterans were a special focus of the event and received honorary pins.
Guest speaker Paul Levesque, a Marine Vietnam veteran, spoke about the importance of recognizing those who served.
“I wear that same pin. Some veterans were missed along the way, and we wanted to make sure they were honored today,” he said. “November 11th marks the end of the Vietnam War commemoration, so we especially wanted to recognize those veterans here.”
Chapter 16 Commander Randall Cox talked about the privileges of living in the United States.
