EAST BOSTON, Mass. —

Travelers at Boston's Logan Airport counted their blessings Tuesday evening, hoping for a delayed flight at worst, and not a cancelled one, as flights continued to be disrupted across the country.

"I was supposed to leave at 7:46 — now leaving at 9:56," said Naika Esperance. "I'm hoping my flight isn't cancelled so I keep checking the app."

Over 1,200 flights were cancelled at U.S. airports and nearly 2,000 were delayed Tuesday.

Airlines are now required to cut flights by six percent, up from four percent due to a shortage of air traffic controllers.
