Ninety thousand units. That’s how much it’s believed is needed in Connecticut when it comes to affordable housing, and lawmakers will debate the solution during Wednesday’s special session at the capitol.
This comes about five months after Governor Ned Lamont vetoed a previous housing bill, which caused anger within his own party. But this time, there’s bipartisan support.

“It's $850 a month over there, three roommates,” Kit Andersen, of Mansfield, said.
“$1,600. That's too much,” Antanaysha Foster, of Hartford, said.
But according to Zillow , that’s actually better than the state average of $1950 a month for rent. Still, it takes up a big chunk of household budgets and many want to see more affordable options
