FORT WORTH, Texas — The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo is mourning the death of Cleo Hearn, the trailblazing cowboy who founded the Cowboys of Color Rodeo and championed diversity in Western culture .
Hearn brought the Cowboys of Color Rodeo to the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo , where it became a fan favorite and annual celebration of the rich diversity within the Western way of life. The event continues to draw thousands each year, honoring the contributions of Black, Hispanic, and Native American cowboys and cowgirls.
In a statement, the Stock Show said Hearn’s “legacy, leadership and love for Western heritage will continue inspiring generations,” and extended condolences to his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.
