CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Family members went back to the spot where 13-year-old Jamarion Washington was killed in a hit-and-run back in 2020.
Tuesday, on the anniversary, the family gathered to call for change while still searching for answers.
“It’s five years later and nothing. People’s life goes on, but ours didn’t. Ours stopped that day,” said Djwana Ashley, Jamarion’s grandmother. “He was struck down in his residence. It makes me nauseated.”
Washington was walking his dog when he was killed in a hit-and-run crash near the intersection of Victory Parkway and Gilpin Avenue.
He was in a coma for three years before he passed away the day after his 15th birthday.
“He was such a beautiful being, like he loved everybody, you know?” Ashley said.
