Just shy of a year after it opened, Matty Matheson’s East Coast–inspired restaurant, Bar Clams, on Dundas Street West has closed, the Star has confirmed.
“Bar Clams has closed its doors effective Nov. 9, 2025. We extend our sincere thanks to every guest who chose to dine with us, and to the dedicated staff whose passion and hard work brought the restaurant to life,” Keegan Ferguson, director of operations for Our House Hospitality Company, wrote to the Star on Tuesday.
Word of the closure first surfaced over the weekend on Reddit, after the restaurant was marked “Permanently Closed” on Google and diners were unable to make reservations for the coming weeks.
Bar Clams opened in late November 2024, replacing Matheson’s Mexican restaurant, Fonda Balam. The restaurant was inspired by Mathes
