SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Missouri’s top attorney says contractors should be licensed in the Show-Me State.

Most states require contractors to get a license, but not in Missouri.

In Arkansas, if the project is more than $2,000, the contractor needs a license.

The laws vary from state to state. There’s usually an exam, proof of insurance, and a criminal background check.
