BANGOR - - Moe's Original Barbecue in Bangor served those who served our country on Veteran's Day.
Patrons who are veterans simply needed to bring their I.D. and their appetite for a meal free of charge. Veterans we spoke with stay humble, but say it's a delicious token of appreciation.
"It's great to have that appreciation, but you don't do it for that, you served your country and it's just a nice residual thing that they do for us for doing our job... And it's awful nice that the community does this for us veterans. We appreciate the appreciation," said Air Force veteran Eric Heale.
"Like a lot of veterans I know, they're not looking for the appreciation so walking in here sometimes is a little hard, believe it or not. It should be easy but for a lot of veterans it's not," explained
