SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - A strong solar storm or coronal mass ejection has occurred and NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center has now upgraded this storm to the highest level...G4.

People are reporting seeing the Northern Lights as far south as Florida.

This storm may cause a major disturbance in Earth’s magnetic field; often varying intensity between lower levels and severe storm conditions over the course of the entire event

The event is expected to last through Friday with the most intense part of the storm on Wednesday.

Possible technology effects could occur and action to mitigate any possible impacts should be taken according to NOAA’S Space Weather Prediction Center.
