Liberal MP Tim Wilson and Nationals Senator Matt Canavan have gone toe-to-toe on social media ahead of Coalition negotiations on net zero emissions policy.
It comes as the Liberal Party has worked to resolve its position on net zero, after the National Party abandoned the emissions target.
Mr Canavan, a long-term opponent of net zero, has been selected to represent the party in negotiations with the Liberals at a meeting scheduled for Sunday.
Opposition Leader Sussan Ley has not confirmed which three Liberal Party members will represent her in negotiations.
Ahead of the debate, Mr Canavan and Mr Wilson have clashed on social media, with the Liberal MP warning his partyroom against becoming “Nationals-lite”.
“We can be Nationals-lite and outsource our emissions policy to globalists.
