Shopian, Nov 12: Police on Wednesday conducted searches at multiple locations, targeting the residences of Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) activists in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, officials said.

The officials said, “The residences of Dr. Hameed Fayaz (Nadigam), Mohammad Yousuf Falahie (Chitragam), and others are being searched.”

In a statement, a police spokesperson said, “Shopian Police are conducting searches at multiple locations across the district at the residences of JeI activists. The residences being searched include those of Dr. Hameed Fayaz (Nadigam), Mohammad Yousuf Falahie (Chitragam), and others.”

“Further details shall follow,” he added.
