MINNEAPOLIS — It was a much better day at airports across the country on Tuesday, with nearly 1,300 flights canceled. That's nearly half the number of flights canceled on Monday.
But Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said if the shutdown doesn't end soon, things will get "much worse".
"Some have asked, 'When are you going to start pulling those back?' The answer is, this has all been data-based," said Duffy. "That’s far safer than seeing hot spots around the country and random cancellations and delays - it’s way harder to manage."
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Adjunct Faculty Dr. Philip Mann says airports will still feel disorganized and chaotic in the meantime.
