AMES, Iowa (KCRG) - David Cook has been selected as the next president of Iowa State University by the Board of Regents Tuesday afternoon.
Cook, president of North Dakota State University and an Iowa State University alum, received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Speech Communication. He went on to receive his master’s degree and Ph.D. in Organizational Communication from the University of Kansas.
Cook said connecting with people and forming partnerships — from his own executive team and the leadership, faculty, staff and students at ISU to business owners, industry leaders and lawmakers at the state and federal level, as well as other universities — will help the university break into new areas of research and education, generate interest and elevate ISU’s work.
