PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Northern Lights have been spotted in several U.S. states on Tuesday, including here in Pennsylvania and South Jersey.
This widespread aurora is the result of two coronal mass ejections arriving from the sun and combining as they interact with Earth's magnetic field, known as a Cannibal CME.
An even bigger episode, farther south, is forecast for Wednesday night, so keep your phones ready.
"This could be a teaser for an even more vibrant aurora," said Meteorologist Cecily Tynan.
