On a chilly morning in Gainesville, students began lining up outside the O'Connell Center before Florida basketball 's showdown with Florida State on Nov. 11.

First-year Florida State coach Luke Loucks knows the Florida -Florida State rivalry well, having played in it for the Seminoles for four years from 2008-12. The No. 10 Florida Gators (2-1) escaped with a 78-76 win over the Seminoles (2-1) before a sellout crowd of 10,785, but Loucks has put together a feisty club that will cause plenty of teams on its schedule problems in the future.
