Funding for a trial to bring wraparound services into schools has been welcomed by educators who say programs improving a sense of community are already making a difference to attendance rates.

The Connected Community School trial is set to kick off next year for four schools, bringing community health and social services into schools for easier access.

The $21 million, four-year trial was first announced in August and will take place in Ashburton Drive Primary School, Clarkson Primary School, Girrawheen Senior High School, and Roebourne District High School.

Part of the funding will also go towards strengthening ties between schools and local sporting or community groups.
