KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The second American Legion post established in the state of Tennessee plans to open its new headquarters sometime this spring.

“It’s important…to have a home,” said Marty Everett who is a longtime member of Post 2 and served in the US Air Force for 24 years. Three other members of his family are also members of Post 2 and the generations of service in his family are symbolic of the membership in the Knoxville post.

“(It's) is a service organization, and we focus primarily on veterans and their families,” said Everett.
