BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - As Veterans Day comes to a close, communities across the Capital Region are finding unique ways to honor the men and women who vowed to protect and serve the country.

In downtown Baton Rouge, dozens of banners line the streets with each one carrying the story of a veteran or active-duty service member.

For Victoria Williams, one banner in particular means everything.

“Just to go down there and see him. I’m just proud of him because he was my hero,” Williams said.
