EAST HAMPTON, Conn. — A group of East Hampton parents is coming together to make sure no family in their community goes hungry.
Janet Royce, one of the organizers behind Buy Nothing Food Fight in East Hampton, said Tuesday that they have already delivered food to nearly 30 families and that their mission is far from over.
She said the mission is simple: to make sure everyone has access to a meal, especially as the holiday season approaches.
“We have families with kids who may qualify for free or reduced lunch, but it’s just not enough,” Royce said. “They’re still coming home hungry. These are our neighbors and we don’t want anyone in our community to go without food.”
