LOUISVILLE, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The Battle of the Bluegrass went to Louisville as the Cardinals stunned the 9th ranked Kentucky Wildcats 96-88. The Cards cruised to a 18 point lead after a 27-7 run in the first half but Kentucky cut the lead to 53-46 at the half.

Much the same in the second half as Louisville once again pushed the lead to 20, but the Wildcats responded with a 17-7 run to cut the lead to 88-84. Louisville made 21 of 31 free throws and had 20 assists to just 6 turnovers while Kentucky had 14 assists and 14 turnovers. The 19 points Louisville scored off those turnovers was just too much for the Wildcats to overcome.
