Residents across Texas have been sharing stunning photos to KSAT Connect of the aurora lighting up the night sky Tuesday during the G4-level geomagnetic storm.

The aurora could be visible in the Hill Country through sunrise, according to the KSAT Weather Authority team. Some people who have submitted photos to KSAT Connect have reported seeing the aurora in the San Antonio area.

The phenomenon can be seen more easily through camera phones, as the sensitive technology can capture the lights better than the human eye.

The KSAT Weather Authority team encourages viewers to look north periodically throughout the night, as conditions can change rapidly.
