Australian model Annie Rose revealed on TikTok a recent encounter at a Double Bay cafe left her stunned.

Known for its pricey cafes and polished image, the Eastern Suburbs hotspot has come under fire after Ms Rose described her suffering a food shaming experience.

Ms Rose said she ordered a simple meal of salad, salmon fillet and vegetables, only to receive an unexpected comment from her waiter.

“I said, can I please get a salad, a salmon fillet and some veggies? To me, that’s a very healthy, well-balanced lunch,” she recalled.

The waiter replied, “Oh, you must be really hungry. That’s a lot of food.”

Rose initially brushed it off, assuming it was a joke, until the waiter suggested making the portions smaller and removing the potatoes so she did not get too full.
