MANCHESTER, N.H. —
Suspected drug overdose totals in Manchester and Nashua have dropped to their lowest numbers in a decade, new data from the American Medical Response (AMR) showed Tuesday, signaling a flicker of hope in the state's ongoing battle with the drug crisis.
"It's been a tremendous amount of effort by many, many people in the state — state government, local government, public health, fire, police, EMS, everyone working together to save lives and make a difference, and it's finally paying off, and making a difference in results," Christopher Stawasz, AMR's Regional Director, told WMUR on Tuesday.
Between Manchester and Nashua, there were 35 suspected overdoses during the month of October. Both cities are expected to see record-low numbers this year for suspected overdoses.
