TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - After 42 days of the government shutdown, an end could be near.

The House of Representatives will meet on Wednesday, and could pass the Senate-approved funding bill , where eight Democrats and independent lawmakers sided with Republicans.

Once signed by President Donald Trump, federal employees could head back to work. Many of those employees are veterans.

13 News spoke to U.S. Army veteran Misty Drane, who served as an automated logistical specialist from 2000 to 2004.

After her time in the Army, she continued public service as a federal employee, and she’s been doing so for years.
