CHENNAI: A day after rising by Rs 1,760, gold price fell by Rs 800 in Chennai on Wednesday (November 12), continuing a two-week trend of price fluctuations. With this, the price of 22-carat gold stands at Rs 92,800 per sovereign (8 grams) and Rs 11,600 per gram, dipping by Rs 100.
A day earlier, on Tuesday (November 11), gold had risen by Rs 1,760 per sovereign - the highest increase in this month - with a sovereign costing Rs 93,600 and a gram Rs 11,700.
The present oscillating trend follows a meteoric rise last month, when gold had surged to Rs 97,600 per sovereign (Rs 12,200 per gram) on October 17—the highest this year—before plunging to Rs 88,600/sovereign (Rs 11,075/gram) on October 28.
