SALEM, Ore. (KPTV) - An advocacy group for immigrant communities says at least 16 people were detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Tuesday morning.
Oregon for All, a coalition of over 100 organizations, says witnesses told them ICE agents smashed windows of a van while some of the people were on their way to work.
The group also says witnesses saw ICE agents ram a car on Ward Street near the 76 gas station.
At least nine of the people arrested were farm workers, according to Oregon for All.
Oregon for All says this is the highest one-day total for ICE arrests in Salem in many years.
FOX 12 reached out to ICE for more information, and are waiting to hear back
