Many might think the last two years have been tough for Jack Cameron.
The tall prop has been out of action for the Dungowan Cowboys since 2023 due to multiple surgeries on a torn labrum in his shoulder.
But rather than resent his time away, Cameron has embraced the break.
"It hasn't been too bad, I haven't had a year off since I was five or six," he said.
"So it hasn't been too bad to get a spell away from it. But in saying that, it's made me realise that I'm not ready to fully retire either."
The last time Cameron was involved in the Cowboys' setup was 2024, when he remained on the sidelines while co-coaching alongside Kieran Croft .
Should he successfully return in 2026, the 26-year-old will play under good mate and newly-appointed captain-coach, Trent Taylor.
