Srinagar, Nov 12: Jammu and Kashmir Police have detained a religious preacher from Mewat, Haryana, in connection with the ongoing investigation into the ‘white-collar’ terror module allegedly linked to banned outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, officials said on Wednesday.
The preacher, identified as Maulvi Ishtiyaq, was living in a rented house inside the Al Falah University complex in Faridabad, where police earlier recovered over 2,500 kg of ammonium nitrate, potassium chlorate, and sulphur. He has been brought to Srinagar and is likely to be formally arrested soon, officials added.
Ishtiyaq’s detention marks the ninth arrest in the case, which has exposed a sophisticated interstate terror network involving individuals from Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar P
