Firefighters Freed the Victim After a Difficult Extrication Near the 2600 Block of South Westwood
Emergency crews rescued a person trapped beneath a train Friday morning near Rancho Park, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters responded around 10:28 a.m. to the 2600 block of South Westwood Boulevard, where they found one individual pinned under an above-ground train. Crews described the extrication as “challenging” due to limited access beneath the train cars.
The person was freed and taken to a hospital in at least critical condition, officials said. The individual’s age and gender have not yet been released.
No other injuries were reported, and authorities have not disclosed details on what led to the incident.
