A Minot man has been sentenced to eight years with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation after pleading guilty to his role in the overdose and death of another man in May.

Calvin James Blaine Brien, 26, entered a change of plea in North Central District Court on Thursday, Nov. 6, pleading guilty to distribution of a controlled substance-resulting in death or injury, a Class A felony; delivery of controlled substance-fentanyl, a Class B felony. Two additional counts of delivery of a controlled substance were dismissed in accordance with a plea agreement.
