Dhruv Jurel will retain his place in India’s playing XI for the first Test against South Africa, which is set to start on Friday (November 14) in Kolkata, despite Rishabh Pant’s return to the side. According to India’s assistant coach Ryn Ten Doeschate, who attended a press conference at Eden Gardens on Wednesday, Jurel will play in the Kolkata Test, and Pant, who is India’s first-choice wicketkeeper-batter in Tests, will most likely replace Nitish Kumar Reddy in the playing XI.
Reddy played both the Test matches for India last month against the West Indies but got a chance to bat and bowl only once.
