ROCHESTER, Minn.- The theme of the University of Minnesota Rochester's 2025 State of the Campus was "Bolder by Design", as part of that the campus announced on Tuesday, Nov. 11, its plans to grow alongside its growing enrollment.

The campus announced that in 2025 its freshman enrollment had grown by 80 percent bringing the total student population up to around 1,122 students.

Chancellor Lori Carrell says the university expects that growth to continue.

"We need to expand our facilities soon as well as our academic programs and faculty and staff so that we can serve our students with the high quality programs they expect and deserve," Carrell said.

For the fall of 2026, the university hopes to expand its existing Biomedical Health program for pre-med students and add a new concentratio
