CINCINNATI — It's the story that is likely flooding your social media feed this morning, the auroras in the Tuesday evening sky.
Between 8:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Tuesday, the northern lights started to show up in our sky.
Photos came in quickly from across the Tri-State.
The auroras are visible because of a what is called a"severe geomagnetic storm", classified as a G4 storm. This came from two separate events from the sun this week.
A "severe" geomagnetic storm like this can bring auroras much farther south into the United States. Reports of auroras have been coming in from places in Florida, Arizona and Texas.
