A 29-year-old professional earning Rs 30 lakh per annum asked Reddit users for advice on whether he should leave his corporate job and take over his father’s food manufacturing business, sparking a discussion on work, legacy, and family responsibility.
The Reddit user shared a post on 'r/IndianWorkplace' titled “Family Business vs Job”, asking whether it would be wise to leave his stable job for his father’s long-running business.
“I’m 29 years old. I have a job with Rs 30 LPA. It’s a decent job, with good hours. My father owns a food manufacturing business with an annual income of approximately Rs 50 LPA,” he wrote.
He added, “He’s old now, about 60 years, and I’ve been thinking of taking over the business. I’ve a pretty decent idea of the work, and moreover, he’ll be there to guide me
