Children as young as 11 have been found to be increasingly engaging in “risk-taking” via adult dating apps — like Sugar Daddy, OnlyFans and FetLife — according to an alarming new survey.
The study by the Australian Institute of Criminology examined underage users on a range of adults-only platforms, honing in on dating apps, remunerative matchmaking services, subscription platforms and fetish communities.
It comes after a previous study by the institute found almost 10 per cent of dating app users admitted they’d first logged on to the platforms while underage.
Once on the apps, users can either engage with their matches through in-app features such as chats and video — or they can exchange personal details like phone numbers and addresses to connected off the app.
